Operations/Site Manager

With minimal supervision, the Operations/Site Manager directs and coordinates the operations, objectives, and initiatives of the Gemeco business to achieve short and long-term financial and operational goals. The role involves oversight of a team of 18 employees across various departments: Sales, Technical Support, Accounting, Shipping, Receiving, Warehouse, Purchasing, and Service. Additionally, the Operations/Site Manager collaborates with Airmar’s Senior Leadership team to contribute to the development and implementation of organizational strategies, policies, and best practices, focusing on enhancing performance, productivity, efficiency, and profitability.

General Management:

  • Operational Management: Oversee and manage the daily operations of the Gemeco office, ensuring alignment with company goals.
  • Sales Operations: Drive sales operations to ensure a profitable P&L and the execution of sales strategies.
  • Strategic Planning: Collaborate with Airmar’s Senior Leadership Team to develop and implement short and long-term sales plans and strategies.
  • Growth Strategies: Develop and execute tactical operational strategies aimed at company growth and sales expansion.
  • Financial Oversight: Oversee banking activities, sales forecasts, and logistics, and understand the financial structure and mechanisms of the company.
  • Performance Improvement: Identify and implement measures to improve operational performance.
  • Deal Management: Manage large deals through national distributors, OEMs subsidiaries or their exclusive distributors, dealers, system integrators, and installers.
  • Leadership and Development: Provide leadership, coaching, mentoring, training, and delegation to staff.
  • Network Building: Build and maintain network contacts.

Sales and Market Development:

  • Sales Initiatives: Lead sales initiatives and develop strategies to expand markets and increase revenue.
  • Market Analysis: Analyze market trends and competitors to identify new growth opportunities.
  • Revenue Generation: Identify revenue-generating activities to maximize profitability.
  • Cost Savings: Identify and implement cost-saving measures.
  • Technical Knowledge: Applicant will manage a business that sells highly technical products. You will not need to be a product expert; the person must grasp the technology and market to be effective.

Human Resources and Team Management:

  • Work Environment: Foster a positive work environment encouraging collaboration, innovation, and professional development.
  • Performance Evaluations: Provide regular feedback and performance evaluations to team members.
  • Training and Development: Oversee training for national distributors, dealers, OEMs on Airmar Transducers and other Gemeco product lines.
  • HR Liaison: Act as the key liaison between Gemeco employees and Airmar’s Human Resource Department.
  • Hiring and Training: Oversee the hiring, orientation, and training of technical employees to ensure a competent workforce.
  • Travel: Willingness to travel as needed.

Operations Management:

  • Efficiency and Compliance: Oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring efficiency, quality, and compliance with company policies and regulations.
  • Process Improvement: Identify areas for process improvement and implement best practices to optimize operational performance.
  • Business Analysis: Evaluate business trends by analyzing and interpreting data and metrics to improve profitability.
  • Inventory Management: Analyze inventory requirements/forecasts and maintain desired inventory levels.
