NMEA 0183 to Seatalk NG Gateway
Part #NGW-1-STNG
MFG #NGW-1-STNG
The Actisense® NGW-1 is an intelligent Gateway that converts NMEA 0183 data to NMEA 2000® (and vice versa), allowing you to share information between devices from the two standards. This creates the possibility of upgrading some of the vessel’s electronics to NMEA 2000® and keeping the remaining NMEA 0183 devices.
NMEA2000® to NMEA 0183 Gateway is the easiest way to link between a boats old and new data networks. The NGW-1 converts NMEA 0183 data into NMEA2000® data and vice-versa. Once the single cable NMEA2000® gateway has been installed data from any node on the bus can be listened to by any other, including any NMEA 0183 instruments connected using an NGW-1. The NMEA2000® network acts like a bi-directional multiplexer, allowing all data sources to talk and listen to each other. Multiple NGW-1 units can be used to multiplex numerous NMEA 0183 devices onto the NMEA2000® network, using the network as a means of combining and transferring all data items from one place to another.
The Actisense® NMEA Reader software utility allows the NGW-1 user to view and understand (in detail) the translated NMEA 0183 sentences output by an NGW-1 directly.
NGW-1-STNG: gateway is the Raymarine SeaTalk NG option. This version enables users to convert NMEA 0183 data into SeaTalk NG and vice-versa, providing seamless integration with Raymarine products. The NGW-1-STNG option combines a standard NGW-1-ISO with a Raymarine SeaTalk NG adapter cable to interface legacy instruments to the NMEA2000® based SeaTalk NG bus.
INSTALLERS NOTE:
NGW-1 will convert NMEA2000® data to NMEA 0183 and vice versa but every application must be checked against Actisense®’s conversion list of PGN’s the latest NGW-1’s firmware is capable of handling. This list details exactly what NMEA 0183 sentences can be converted into NMEA2000® messages, and what NMEA2000® messages can be converted into NMEA 0183 sentences.
